DIY Shoulder Rig

How to create your own Should Rig !!

Whats a shoulder rig ?

A shoulder rig is a dynamic piece of equipment that moves with the camera operator. It allows you, the filmmaker, the flexibility of movement, which can really help increase efficiency during production. A shoulder rig is a piece of equipment that moves alongside the cameraman.

When to use ?

As with any type of camera movement, the decision to use a shoulder rig will be determined by what type of story you're trying to tell.

Shot Division - Pre Production

Dear All,

Today we going to look at one of the crucial and important element of Film Making "Shot Division"

I love this part in film making because shot division shows the caliber of a director how well he can shoot a scene. Hope u people are aware what is the meaning of shot division..Before that please don't get confused between a scene and a shot. Both of them are different. To tell u clearly..
Scene: A scene is nothing but change of location...or a combination of various shots with respect to same location i.e here no location change takes place. That is for example please have a  look at the image below. Below is the snap shot of a scene which is written by me long time back. Image depicts how a scene looks like.

How to use a light meter ?

Controlling light is an essential skill for photographers, videographers and digital filmmakers.

How to use a Light Meter for Lighting purpose ..

A light meter is a device used to measure the amount of light. In photography, a light meter is often used to determine the proper exposure for a photograph. Typically a light meter will include a computer, either digital or analog, which allows the photographer to determine which shutter speed and f-number should be selected for an optimum exposure, given a certain lighting situation and film speed.
Light meters are also used in the fields of cinematography and scenic design, in order to determine the optimum light level for a scene. They are used in the general field of lighting, where they can help to reduce the amount of waste light used in the home, light pollution outdoors, and plant growing to ensure proper light levels.

Follow Focus

Dear All,

A follow focus is a focus control mechanism used in filmmaking with film cameras and in television production with professional video cameras. It is ergonomic rather than strictly necessary; in other words it does not contribute to the basic functionality of a camera but instead allows the operator to be more efficient and precise. It is usually operated by a focus puller (often called the 1st assistant camera, or 1st AC) but some camera operators prefer to pull their own focus (the act of changing focus is called "pulling" or racking focus).

This is the cheapest method to make your own focus puller.

Color Correction (FCP)

3 Way Color Correction in Final Cut Pro

The Color Corrector 3-way filter gives you more subtle control over the color of your clips than the Color Corrector filter. The controls are deceptively easy considering the amount of power they give you over the look of your clips. The main controls are at the top of the visual interface tab—three color balance controls and level and saturation controls.
